Fort Glen Blenderīs Reserve - Aged 12 Years

Aged to Perfection

Please use the arrows either side of this box to navigate through the description

Fort Glen uses only the finest grain and malted barley in its production to ensure that our whiskies are the very smoothest. The Blender's Reserve is aged to perfection for at least 12 years.

The BLENDER’S RESERVE is made from carefully selected whiskies from across Scotland, embodying her very heart and soul in a blend known only to our Master Blender (and one other - just in case!)

On the nose one can detect the peat influences from the distilleries of Islay and the west coast together with the steely dryness from the distilleries of the Northern Highlands combining with the sweet and floral high notes from the distilleries of the Speyside region together with the gentle smoothness from the Lowlands and the obvious quality of the aged grain. On the palate, the BLENDER’S RESERVE is a smooth, warm, complex fulsome Scotch – a moment to savour – with a long, pleasing and smooth finish.

Tasting Notes

Simon Difford - Difford's Guide
Appearance: Clear, pale golden amber.
Aroma: Well-buttered crispy baguette, light oak and delicate spice.
Taste: Slightly sweet bready cereal, salted caramel and elegant lightly spiced oak with faint orange marmalade.
Aftertaste: Long, lightly spiced cereal.
Rating: Five Stars - Exceptional

Jim Murray - The Whisky Bible 2012
Notes: Any British school kid dating back to WWII will recognise the "fruit salad" signature on this. Soft, delicate and evocative; and no less fruit on delivery as the salivating citrus makes way for a spicier, oilier middle. Thins out as the grain and vanilla set up camp; an entirely enjoyable blend which is clean and boasting decent complexity and weight.
Rating: 88.5 - (Very good to excellent)

Martine Nouet - Whisky Magazine
Nose: Rich and buttery, butterscotch, greengage jam. Elegant grain note. Sweet, with a good integration of wood and oak. Some depth
Palate: Round, appetising, toffee, salted butter caramel, hint of marzipan, some fruit too. Oranges with a pinch of cinnamon.
Finish: Warm, creamy, slightly nutty
Comments: Appetising, pudding-like but not oversweet. Well balanced. To enjoy with a Dundee cake.
